Four Color Glaze with a Faux Woodgrained Carved Border

A four color faux finish glaze was applied in warm shades of yellow, brown, red and green.  We masked off a 9-inch wide border and custom woodgrained it in a faux cherry wood finish.  Next,  we added a trompe l'oeil effect by painting the border to look as if it was a carved woodgrained beam in a decorative scroll pattern.  Metallic gold bands were added to the top and bottom of the border which complimented the entire design.
