Red Lacquer Silk Faux Finish

This dramatic faux finish is a replica of an unusual red lacquer silk effect that was presented in The Russian Tea Room.  Working with subtle tone on tone colors we began with a red base and infused a metallic red fresco on top creating a finish that is reminiscent of a high end Oriental silk.  Keeping with our Oriental theme, we added a striking border done in a shimmering 14k metallic gold.  A black drop-shadow under the design gives the border a three-dimensional effect.
